the second gallery awaits...
...in this second offering of photographs, I present even more exotic locales and perfectly timed shots. There is a photo that looks like it was straight from an episode of Thomas the Tank Engine, a deer in motion, a seagull calmly riding the waves and some lovely shots taken close to home, showing us that you don't have to go far to see the beauty all around.
2.1 - another throwback to the days before world travel, I took a hike and watched some bees swarming around these flowers.
2.2 - the Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park in Boston, in late winter, I'd love to see it again in the spring when everything is in bloom. 2019.
2.3 - I love this shot so much, it is probably one of my most shared photos on Facebook. It looks like something out of Thomas the Tank Engine, but it's actually Midland Railway in Derbyshire, UK.
2.4 - this shot was sort of random, but I think an essential entry in my photography, a random Australian highway on my first visit there. A little taste of a far-off place.
2.5 - I caught this photo of a deer running past from a moving vehicle, in a remote and secluded part of Ohio.
2.6 - Times Square in New York City is a busy, busy place to photograph, but this is one of my attempts.
2.7 - I practice my concert photography skills every summer at Alive Festival at Atwood Lake Park in Mineral City, Ohio.
2.8 - one of my favorites and perhaps one of my greatest achievements, capturing this heron watching the sunset in Fort Myers Beach was a real treat.
2.9 - some flowers hanging near an old church in a quiet English town on a Sunday morning. August, 2017.
2.10 - the sunlight falling through the trees on one of my walks through rural Ohio. Jewett area.
2.11 - a monument to firefighters near the entrance to Tempe Beach Park in Arizona.
2.12 - the gorgeous Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, California. Snapped this one while on a tour with Legends of Hollywood Tours.
2.13 - I'm not even sure exactly where this is, but I snapped this one on a country drive through Ohio with my mom.
2.14 - one of my favorite snowy shots, considering I don't like the cold and snow turns so quickly into gray slush, I was very pleased to capture this moment of the snow hanging in the trees.
2.15 - an airplane coming in for a landing at Phoenix Sky Harbor.
2.16 - a massive sea turtle in the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta - the largest aquarium in the United States. July '19.
2.17 - the sun rises over Pheonix, Arizona for another 110 degree day. View from Howard Johnson near airport, 2017.
2.18 - a view of the Grand Canyon during a visit with my family a few summers ago. It was nice to visit one of the places where I got my start as a photographer.
2.19 - Grauman's Chinese Theatre at night. A Los Angeles staple, it is in front of this theater that you can find the handprints and footprints of a number of celebrities through the years.
2.20 - a lovely little garter snake that I encountered in my parent's backyard in between my little adventures. The lighting was perfect that day for some fantastic up close shots.
2.21 - sea gull riding some waves. A favorite of mine, this was a technically difficult shot that managed to come together perfectly.
2.22 - some beautiful palm trees basking in a gorgeous Arizona sunset in July 2019.
2.23 - on the last day of my visit to Sydney, my cousin and I walked out on the Sydney Harbour Bridge and this is one of the shots I captured of the world-famous Sydney Opera House.
2.24 - these are the remains of the actual Whoville set from the live-action Grinch movie with Jim Carrey, spotted on the Universal Studios Hollywood tour.
2.25 - a daytime view of Los Angeles from the overlooking Griffith Observatory, one of my favorite lookout points with great views of the city below.
2.26 - my hotel in Phoenix on my 28th birthday in 2021. I had been up all night, taking the last bus in the wrong direction, but when I finally got some sleep and stepped outside, it was such a beautiful day, I couldn't be disappointed.
2.27 - among the flower photos that I cannot identify of the top of my head, this was most likely a shot from the Sunken Gardens in Lincoln, Nebraska.
2.28 - an amazing moment in my life, I had Googled on the train whether the Flying Scotsman (the most famous steam locomotive in the world) was on display anywhere and found that it was giving rides at the next station. I was too late for a ride, but I got some photos of the beauty in operation.
2.29 - my blue and yellow macaw, Simon stares me down when I get the camera out for what must have been the hundredth time.
2.30 - a particularly vibrant sunset over my parent's backyard in Jewett, Ohio.
